    • Loving Ourselves

Posted at 12:12 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on December 10, 2014

I have some experience with the challenges around this topic.  My inclination had always been to put others’ needs first before mine, to minimize my needs so as to accommodate others.  While that is absolutely necessary in life, a balance needs to be created between dispensing our energy and energizing ourselves.

We need to get in order to give.

How do we replenish ourselves of the energy we give away?  Through loving ourselves.  That’s it.  The love we give away must be equal to the love we show ourselves.  Otherwise, we end up depleted and defeated.  The challenge here is that often we hold the belief we don’t deserve it.  For some reason, we don’t feel as worthy of receiving as those who receive.

As we live our lives, we often lose touch with the loving, divine beings we are.  We are made up of pure love.  The energy that fuels us is love energy.  That love energy is what makes up the universe.  That universal energy is flowing through us and is everywhere, all the time. It’s an unbroken cycle.  If we lack the love for ourselves that we endeavor to give away, we disconnect from that universal love. We temporarily break and disconnect from our source.  Without source energy flowing through us, we deplete our own.  We cannot give what we don’t have.  So if we truly want to share with and serve others with our love, we must connect and replenish with the love of the universe.

Make sense?  Let me know your thoughts!

      Love To You!!

    • The Unpredictability of Predictability

Posted at 10:41 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on November 6, 2014

Have you ever made a plan, let’s say for the weekend, one that was rock solid and tight and you just couldn’t wait to execute it because it was awesome and you were going to have an amazing time?

Then, it rains or you can’t find your one credit card that you need, or your child gets sick.  Better yet, YOU get sick.

The disappointment sets in and throws you for a loop.  Everything sucks.  The weekend is ruined.  You won’t have another weekend off for months and who knows if you can make the same plans again, or if you’d even be able to do it because SOMETHING would probably happen to screw it up…..

The thing is, none of that matters.  There are no guarantees in this life.  There isn’t a rule book that says we get everything we want in the way we want it.

I didn’t plan to suffer cardiopulmonary arrest and die while in labor with my daughter.  For me, the outcome was predictable.  I’d deliver my baby and with my husband at my side we’d see her for the first time together.

      None of that happened.

      And it’s ok.

Life is full of surprises and cool little twists and turns.  Some are more pronounced than others, more significant, but they all boil down to the same thing.   Unpredictability.

It seems counterintuitive, but if we can settle ourselves into the understanding of there are no guarantees in this life and we only have control over how we think and therefore respond to situations, we’d be a lot happier.

I didn’t get the last donut this morning.  My daughter ate it before I got up.  It’s ok, because I had a piece of cake instead.

      See what I mean?

      xoxo

They amaze me. No really, in a good way.

I had two meaningful discussions with two different taxi cab drivers over the last two days. Yes, meaningful.

      What precipitated these events? Love.

I consciously made the decision to approach every person I met over the last two days with love. That was the energy I carried. That was the energy they sensed and responded to.

Both of them opened up and asked me questions about why I was there. When I told them I’d written a book and was learning how to market it, the “what’s your book about” was the follow up. That’s when things got really interesting.

The driver who took me to the airport shared how he’d just had a baby boy after having two girls. In his culture, girls are not as valued as boys, but he fought against that mindset. “Observe the mother, and love the daughter” he quoted. I asked him where he heard it. “I’m not sure, I read it somewhere.” That quote changed his life, he said. He’d had a son nine months ago, “Now you can teach him.” He hadn’t considered it yet, he said, but yes, he absolutely would.

We got on the subject of energy. It’s all energy, he agreed. “Money is energy” I said. “It’s currency.” His face lit up. “Yes! That’s it! Energy is currency and we all share it!” Then he said “I don’t usually have these conversations with people. You just made my day.” That two minute exchange (it was a very short cab ride to the airport) made by day too. What a wonderful connection to make with a total stranger in a place so far from home.

We can all connect. All we have to do, is reach.

      Love to YOU!

    • The Law of Attraction Works!

Posted at 9:24 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on June 17, 2014

I can speak to this point for days and give countless examples about how it’s helped me to manifest my own desires, but what I’d like to do is share a story about a friend who had the experience of the LOA working in her life.

Katie is in LA temporarily with her daughters who have a lot of activities in and around the city.  She’s driving them here and there constantly, and finds herself stuck in traffic all the time.

Just before she left we had a discussion about the LOA and how it can help improve one’s life.  She said she’d give it a try, and I heard from her today that it’s worked several times already!  She manifested a smooth, traffic-free trip twice, and both times there was little traffic when normally there would be quite a bit.

This is a small example of the power of our intentions and the will of the Universe to work with us along our life’s journey 🙂

      Love this stuff!!  xoxo

    • Feel Rather Than Think

Posted at 8:22 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on June 8, 2014

The connection between what we think and what we feel is well established.  But then, why do so many of us walk around feeling bad? If we know that what we think creates our inner environment, isn’t it intuitive that we’d think only good things?

This is the Great Challenge of life.  Our lives have the potential to be a seamless flow of natural joy, joy that is always present, but blocked by our negative thoughts.  When we cultivate awareness of who and what we are, we can more easily take notice of the things that we identify as non-joyful because they cause us to feel bad.  Once we’ve identified what makes us feel bad, we can then look at our part in it.  In so doing, there is opportunity for change and spiritual growth.  That is what we are here for.

I intend to feel good today.

      Love to you!

    • What Inspires You?

Posted at 9:38 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on June 3, 2014

I was writing tonight about what/who my inspirations in life have been.  Remembering back to my childhood, it ranged from Winnie the Pooh, Big Bird, and Mary Poppins to Wonder Woman, the Six Million Dollar Man and Charlie’s Angels.  Moving on into my teens it became the hero of whatever book I couldn’t put down, or musician who’s music I’d become infatuated with.

Then, in early adulthood, it was the work of Joseph Campbell and Deepak Chopra that resonated with me and helped shape who I am today.

Inspiration is the spark that ignites creativity.  It is our divine beingness that is sparked in the face of inspiration.

One of the definitions of Inspire is to breathe.  We all share the breath of life.  We all inspire.

      What inspires you?

      xoxo

    • What are you worried about?

Posted at 3:34 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on May 27, 2014

Worry is fear manifested in our bodies.

When fear manifests, we are out of balance.

When we are out of balance, our lives become out of balance.

When our lives are out of balance, we experience fear.

When we experience fear, we worry.

    • The Journey

Posted at 8:38 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on May 7, 2014

Experience is gained along our journey, which gives us wisdom.  Conscious living through awareness, along with experience and wisdom, help to re-create our true selves here, in the body.  To what degree this happens is based on the degree of our ability to know and share love.

      Love to you all!!

    • Loving What Is

Posted at 10:58 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on April 17, 2014

To accept what is happening in the present moment is not about rolling over and being a victim.  It’s about putting our attention on what is in that moment, while intending the next.  Where the intention comes from is what’s important.  When it comes from a space of love, from our true nature, the next moment is allowed to evolve from this, and so goes your life.  It’s a beautiful journey!

      Love to you all!
