    • Merging with the Collective

Posted at 11:25 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on March 3, 2015

“When we quit thinking primarily about ourselves and our own self-preservation, we undergo a truly heroic transformation of consciousness.”

      ~Joseph Campbell

The inclination of us humans is to hold on to what is familiar and comfortable as opposed to opening up to novel or other ways of being.  With the ever-present urge we innately have for expansion, at some critical point holding on becomes less appealing and a greater sense of awareness about our true nature and our place in the cosmos emerges.  This transformation is the shedding off of old beliefs, thought patterns and behaviors as we merge with the ever-present consciousness of who we really are, thus raising the collective consciousness of divine love that is the beginning and end of everything.

    • Finding Our Bliss

Posted at 9:25 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on January 18, 2015

I love the question “Are you happy?”  When asked, it begs the follow-up question “What makes you happy?”

How many of us can answer that truthfully?  In other words, how many of us know?

We’re here to discover our bliss.  We’re here to love ourselves enough to live the life of our dreams.  Rather than dim down our strengths that can help us realize our goals, we have the opportunity to nurture them and journey through the process of watching them manifest.

Here’s to you and your dreams!

      xoxo

    • What Inspires You?

Posted at 9:38 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on June 3, 2014

I was writing tonight about what/who my inspirations in life have been.  Remembering back to my childhood, it ranged from Winnie the Pooh, Big Bird, and Mary Poppins to Wonder Woman, the Six Million Dollar Man and Charlie’s Angels.  Moving on into my teens it became the hero of whatever book I couldn’t put down, or musician who’s music I’d become infatuated with.

Then, in early adulthood, it was the work of Joseph Campbell and Deepak Chopra that resonated with me and helped shape who I am today.

Inspiration is the spark that ignites creativity.  It is our divine beingness that is sparked in the face of inspiration.

One of the definitions of Inspire is to breathe.  We all share the breath of life.  We all inspire.

      What inspires you?

      xoxo

    • “If you really …

Posted at 7:51 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on May 17, 2014

“If you really want to help this world, what you need to teach is how to live in it.” Joseph Campbell (via Bill Moyers)

I was not overtly instructed  on how to live in this world by my parents.  I did learn though, and now I endeavor to teach others.  In my forthcoming book, Lessons In Love:  Twelve Principles For Daily Living, I take the knowledge I gained during my near death experience 14 years ago, and boil it down into understandable, immediately applicable terms that help to guide others on their personal journeys through this life.

      Love to you all!!

    • I Love Blunders

Posted at 10:29 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on January 29, 2014

“… [B]lunders are not the merest chance. They are the results of suppressed desires and conflicts. They are ripples on the surface of life, produced by unsuspected springs. And these may be very deep—as deep as the soul itself. The blunder may amount to the opening of a destiny.”

Joseph Campbell, The Hero with a Thousand Faces

So, we need to go easy on ourselves when we make a “mistake”.  After all, is it, really?

    • The Wisdom of Joseph Campbell

Posted at 1:41 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on January 20, 2014

I saw this quote recently, and felt compelled to share it today.  To me, it means more than just the maturity that comes along with growing into adulthood and being able to support and take care of yourself.  It holds more of a spiritual meaning for me.

“You become mature when you become the authority for your own life.”

Joseph Campbell, “A Joseph Campbell Companion: Reflections on the Art of Living”

When we become the authority of our own life, we move into a state of being that is transcendent of the circumstances around us.  We are able to create the life of our choosing by allowing for its unfolding while using our creative intention to guide and direct ourselves.  The universe matches whatever we wish for in our life, and does so in its own time.  All it requires of us is to hold the intention, practice patience, and enjoy the ride ;]  This, to me, is maturity.

Lots of love to you all!
