    • Loving Ourselves

Posted at 12:31 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on April 19, 2015

Why is it that we struggle so much with loving ourselves?

What is it that holds us back from fully embracing who we are and celebrating that person in our daily lives?

For me, it was that I wasn’t aware of who I was in the first place!  I grew up without the guidance from my family that I needed to get in touch with myself.  It wasn’t their fault, they were unaware also.  It took the trials of life, a near death experience and the trials in my life that followed for me to become fully aware of who I am in this physical body.

To say “We’re all connected” is somewhat abstract with lots of room for interpretation.  For me, it means we are literally connected via the energy we are made up of and all that exists outside of us and extending throughout the universe.  Energy is always in motion.  We are always in motion, ever evolving over time and space.

To love ourselves is to love all there is.  When I struggle with loving and caring well for myself, I remind myself how I love and care for what’s outside of me and that I am an integral part of it.  It’s really a simple solution for a complex problem we all face.

      Love to You!!  xox

    • Turn Fear Inside-Out

Posted at 10:20 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on February 25, 2015

Fear can be really motivating and really stagnating.

      Why?

Why does it have to exist at all?  Sure, there’s the life-perserving type of fight-or-flight kind of fear that ensures the propagation of the species and once we experience it we run like hell, but why does it exist beyond that stage?

Think about what you’ve experienced in the past where fear motivated you to run…what purpose did it serve?  Self-preservation.  To preserve the “Self”.  But, what is the self?  Ego.  Let me explain…

When we’re faced with a situation that challenges our present mind-set or belief system, a common thing to do is react to it by becoming defensive.  We want to defend our mind-set or beliefs because the Ego is all about standing its ground and maintaining its position.  What underlies the Ego?  What supports it?  Fear.

The question we must all ask if we’re to grow into the loving beings we came here to be is this:  What am I afraid of?  Open it up and dissect it, remove all the parts and lay it all out on the table.   Turn it inside-out.

      xoxo

    • Loving Ourselves

Posted at 12:12 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on December 10, 2014

I have some experience with the challenges around this topic.  My inclination had always been to put others’ needs first before mine, to minimize my needs so as to accommodate others.  While that is absolutely necessary in life, a balance needs to be created between dispensing our energy and energizing ourselves.

We need to get in order to give.

How do we replenish ourselves of the energy we give away?  Through loving ourselves.  That’s it.  The love we give away must be equal to the love we show ourselves.  Otherwise, we end up depleted and defeated.  The challenge here is that often we hold the belief we don’t deserve it.  For some reason, we don’t feel as worthy of receiving as those who receive.

As we live our lives, we often lose touch with the loving, divine beings we are.  We are made up of pure love.  The energy that fuels us is love energy.  That love energy is what makes up the universe.  That universal energy is flowing through us and is everywhere, all the time. It’s an unbroken cycle.  If we lack the love for ourselves that we endeavor to give away, we disconnect from that universal love. We temporarily break and disconnect from our source.  Without source energy flowing through us, we deplete our own.  We cannot give what we don’t have.  So if we truly want to share with and serve others with our love, we must connect and replenish with the love of the universe.

Make sense?  Let me know your thoughts!

      Love To You!!

    • Life Changes With The Weather

Posted at 8:59 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on October 6, 2014

One of my favorite parts of the year are the changes of season, when the weather cools or begins to warm up and windows are thrown open letting fresh air in to replace the old.  There’s something very cleansing about it, and of course, I find it meaningful!  I find most everything meaningful 😉

It’s a time of transition.  A time to reflect and take stock of where we are in our lives. For me, I find it is during these periods of natural transition that I take the greatest steps forward on my own spiritual journey.

Today, as I sit with my windows open enjoying the cool air, I’m grateful for the awareness I have of the love that surrounds me and my ability to tap into it so as to feel the joy of simply being.

      Have a beautiful day xox

They amaze me. No really, in a good way.

I had two meaningful discussions with two different taxi cab drivers over the last two days. Yes, meaningful.

      What precipitated these events? Love.

I consciously made the decision to approach every person I met over the last two days with love. That was the energy I carried. That was the energy they sensed and responded to.

Both of them opened up and asked me questions about why I was there. When I told them I’d written a book and was learning how to market it, the “what’s your book about” was the follow up. That’s when things got really interesting.

The driver who took me to the airport shared how he’d just had a baby boy after having two girls. In his culture, girls are not as valued as boys, but he fought against that mindset. “Observe the mother, and love the daughter” he quoted. I asked him where he heard it. “I’m not sure, I read it somewhere.” That quote changed his life, he said. He’d had a son nine months ago, “Now you can teach him.” He hadn’t considered it yet, he said, but yes, he absolutely would.

We got on the subject of energy. It’s all energy, he agreed. “Money is energy” I said. “It’s currency.” His face lit up. “Yes! That’s it! Energy is currency and we all share it!” Then he said “I don’t usually have these conversations with people. You just made my day.” That two minute exchange (it was a very short cab ride to the airport) made by day too. What a wonderful connection to make with a total stranger in a place so far from home.

We can all connect. All we have to do, is reach.

      Love to YOU!

    • Here and There

Posted at 7:21 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on July 26, 2014

My husband, daughter and I were talking yesterday about my book.

I’ve been going back and forth about the title, wanting to change it to better suit the overarching energy it carries, and “message” I’m putting out there.

The source of the book was through me “Krista” and the universe in its ever-flowing sharing and transferring of energy.  The impetus was my NDE and the difficulties I had in my life following it as I struggled with reintegration back into life.

We were discussing the words used to describe the transfer of energy from one state to another.  From what we call physical (our bodies that are put together) and the spiritual (our “essence” when we die).  There is something else in there.

That something else is a sort of middle ground where our “self” is unified with the universal “self” and we have an experience that has been termed Near Death where we go to the Afterlife.

There is the appearance of something finite about the “life” part within the term Afterlife, and it was pointed out that it’s not really the After-life.  Life, in its essence, continues on even beyond what is contained in a near death (or what I call Death experience.  I actually died.  I wasn’t near it.)  This life is an everlasting event, and comes back around again to a something else we may not yet be aware of.

The universe is infinite.  My daughter pointed out there are an infinite number of numbers between zero and one.  There is an even greater number of infinite numbers between zero and two.  Therefore, she concluded, the universe is even bigger than our concept.  It is even more expansive than we can possibly prove or imagine.

      What?!?

It needs to be experienced in order to grasp it, and we all have and will again, beyond the death experience, beyond what we call the Afterlife.

So, we came up with a new term.  Interlife.  Actually, my daughter did.  She’s only 14.  She was still in my womb when I died.  We don’t know if she died too, but was on the brink when she was born.  There has been no mention of any experience of the Interlife from her yet, but my guess is she experienced “something”.  Her speedy recovery was what her doctor called “miraculous” and she is in a school for the gifted.  Miracles occur.  Every minute of every day, but that’s another subject :).  Well, kinda.

    • On Being Joyful

Posted at 9:00 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on March 17, 2014

Joy used to sound like such an over-the-top kind of word that rarely described anyone, except maybe kids around the Holidays, or when you find the last pair of jeans in your size that are exactly what you were looking for and don’t cost a fortune, in fact there’s a sale on them, etc.

      I understand joy differently now.

During my NDE, I experienced the joy that we are at our core being.  That was joy. Blissful, unadulterated, unfiltered joy.

In my life since my experience, joy has mostly been an elusive thing for me.  Over the years I’ve come to really understand it, and how I can experience it in my daily life.  It’s not been about the acquisition of things, or promotions or more money.  It’s about connection, and compassion.  It’s about acceptance, and most of all, Love in all its forms.

I wish you true Joy today  🙂

      xoxo
