    • The Power Of Yes

Posted at 8:36 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on December 3, 2014

Growing up I heard “No” so many times I thought that was the usual way to respond to things.  Negativity in my family was not intentional, simply perpetual.  My parents had simply carried over their own childhood beliefs and ways of viewing the world without scrutiny and without awareness.

As I grew into adulthood and began to notice the difference between my usual fall-back response and that of others, as I became more aware it wasn’t exactly the norm, I also became (here it is…) aware I had a choice.  I could either say “No” to life or “Yes” to life.

I started with myself.  I’d always been someone who enjoyed helping others, often sacrificing my own needs in the process.  When I started putting my needs first with the intention of also serving others, things began to flow easier.  I began to say “Yes” more frequently to myself and big changes came with that.

I graduated college after much initial struggle.  I moved across the country to experience life in a different way.  I decided to go into medicine, and have been practicing it for the last 14 years.  All because I said “Yes” to myself and to life.

Now, I am saying “Yes” to you.  I returned after a near death experience to kick my service to others up a notch.  I came back to be an inspiration and support for those who struggle in life.  I am a student and a teacher, as we all are.  The only difference between any two people are levels of awareness and experience.  We can help elevate one another, all we need to do is say “YES!”

      Love to All!!

    • The Unpredictability of Predictability

Posted at 10:41 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on November 6, 2014

Have you ever made a plan, let’s say for the weekend, one that was rock solid and tight and you just couldn’t wait to execute it because it was awesome and you were going to have an amazing time?

Then, it rains or you can’t find your one credit card that you need, or your child gets sick.  Better yet, YOU get sick.

The disappointment sets in and throws you for a loop.  Everything sucks.  The weekend is ruined.  You won’t have another weekend off for months and who knows if you can make the same plans again, or if you’d even be able to do it because SOMETHING would probably happen to screw it up…..

The thing is, none of that matters.  There are no guarantees in this life.  There isn’t a rule book that says we get everything we want in the way we want it.

I didn’t plan to suffer cardiopulmonary arrest and die while in labor with my daughter.  For me, the outcome was predictable.  I’d deliver my baby and with my husband at my side we’d see her for the first time together.

      None of that happened.

      And it’s ok.

Life is full of surprises and cool little twists and turns.  Some are more pronounced than others, more significant, but they all boil down to the same thing.   Unpredictability.

It seems counterintuitive, but if we can settle ourselves into the understanding of there are no guarantees in this life and we only have control over how we think and therefore respond to situations, we’d be a lot happier.

I didn’t get the last donut this morning.  My daughter ate it before I got up.  It’s ok, because I had a piece of cake instead.

      See what I mean?

      xoxo

    • Life Changes With The Weather

Posted at 8:59 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on October 6, 2014

One of my favorite parts of the year are the changes of season, when the weather cools or begins to warm up and windows are thrown open letting fresh air in to replace the old.  There’s something very cleansing about it, and of course, I find it meaningful!  I find most everything meaningful 😉

It’s a time of transition.  A time to reflect and take stock of where we are in our lives. For me, I find it is during these periods of natural transition that I take the greatest steps forward on my own spiritual journey.

Today, as I sit with my windows open enjoying the cool air, I’m grateful for the awareness I have of the love that surrounds me and my ability to tap into it so as to feel the joy of simply being.

      Have a beautiful day xox

    • Loving The People We Meet….

Posted at 12:10 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on October 2, 2014

My job is in medicine and I meet a lot of people every day.  I love everyone.  Everyone is deserving of my love, especially those who seem to suffer more than others, like the homeless alcoholic who I later learned had been a Obstetrition at one time, or the distraught young woman who cut her wrist after her boyfriend broke up with her.  My words to her were simple, “You don’t have to live this way, and you know it.”  I could feel her energy shift at that moment.  I cared for a middle-aged obese woman with high blood pressure who obviously wasn’t taking care of herself.  As I left the room, my words to her were “Do what you know you need to do for yourself.  You’re worth it.”  She and her husband’s jaws dropped at that, literally.  I laughed a little, knowing she’d remember it and maybe get back in touch with the love she is.

I’m not bragging or blowing my own horn, I just believe we need to focus on and talk more about love.  When we do, it carries that love energy outward, all around us.  In the presence of love, there can’t be hate.  No fear.  Just Love.

      Lots of Love to You!

    • Just Be……Your Self!

Posted at 11:43 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on September 29, 2014

      Easier said than done?

It can be.  Unless we say “It’s easy!”

Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.”

Be your self (the space between the words was intentional).  Your self is all there is.

      Love to You!

    • Oh, Sweet Life!

Posted at 10:39 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on September 23, 2014

I witness a lot of suffering in my daily life, not my own mind you, but that of others.  I’ve come to the awareness that if I am to survive in this world, I must live in it objectively.  Objective awareness.  I love, but in a detached kind of way.  I am unattached to ego when I am unattached.

I love, but I do not possess.  I appreciate and observe and admire, but do not grab hold of and cling to anything.

These things make my life sweeter.  What’s the icing on the cake?  The love I receive in return, simply for loving in the first place.  We are each a mirror for the other.

    • The Journey

Posted at 8:38 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on May 7, 2014

Experience is gained along our journey, which gives us wisdom.  Conscious living through awareness, along with experience and wisdom, help to re-create our true selves here, in the body.  To what degree this happens is based on the degree of our ability to know and share love.

      Love to you all!!

    • Death and After Life

Posted at 2:29 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on February 26, 2014

These words confuse me a little.

We call no longer living death.  We call death the after life.  But, what is death, really?

In my experience, death is the transition from the physical form in this 3-D world to a less dense existence in the “spiritual” realm.  We are still “alive” though, just in a different space with a different awareness.

      It’s all about awareness.

What I learned in my “afterlife” was we get to choose our awarenesses, everywhere, all the time. Whether in physical form or spiritual form, we choose.  Based on our choices, we create and co-create our experiences.

Death is not the end, it is a transition.  It is a transition of consciousness from one awareness to another.  It’s a shift from here, to there.   A movement from life to life.

This picture was taken in the Bahamas a few years ago.  I loved the tangled beauty of the branches that seemed to reach out to the sky like fingers ready to grasp the unknown.

      Love,

      Krista 🙂
