      Sanskrit Proverb

      Look to this day,

      For it is life,

      The very life of life.

In it’s brief course lie all

The realities and verities of existence,

      The bliss of growth,

      The splendor of action

      The glory of power—

For yesterday is but a dream,

And tomorrow is only a vision,

      But today, well lived,

      Makes every yesterday a dream

      Of happiness

And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

Look well, therefore, to this day.

      Love to you all!

      Krista xoxo

    • Managing Fear

Posted at 7:37 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on July 31, 2020

Let’s take a look at one scenario. Come up with a specific fear you have. Feel it through, in your body. Notice how your body feels when your mind imagines this hypothetical situation. Does your stomach turn or have butterflies? Does your breathing become a bit faster? Do you feel blood rushing to your head? Does it feel good or not so good?

What is fear? Let’s unpackage it a bit….

Fear is not just one thing. Fear is a constellation of multiple dynamic energies all working at once. Some work together, some seemingly alone, but all end up influencing the outcome.

When we are in a state of fear, not only is our body responding physiologically to the hormones being released in a fight-or-flight response to the autonomic nervous system stimulation from our interpretation of the thoughts we are having in that moment, but once the physiologic response happens it sort of loops back in a type of reflex for more thoughts on the same subject. We almost get carried away on the wings of the thoughts. We loose control.

How do we get some of that control back? Through focusing our attention on what we want to be rather than what we don’t want to be, i.e. whatever our fear is, we imagine the opposite. Use that creative mind power to envision something better.

Talk yourself down from it. Remind yourself that you are a powerful creator and can create or uncreate anything you choose to place your focus on. Don’t chastise yourself or be mean to yourself if you have to keep doing it because it will get easier and easier as you go along. It takes a dedication of your energy to continually go back and refocus, but the outcome is so worth it! The outcome of a better feeling, even for just a few moments. The outcome of what you desire to happen rather than what you don’t desire to happen, or maybe something close to it. Try it. You’ll see.

Tell yourself that all is well, that everything is working out for you and everyone involved. That it’s working out even when others observe it and say the opposite. You can believe differently.

Write affirmations about whatever subject you are fearful about and put them in your pocket. Pull them out and remind yourself of how powerful you are at creating what you desire to experience rather than what you don’t desire. I put them on my bathroom mirror, in my car, on the fridge, in my scrub pocket. Anywhere you are inspired to where you know you’ll see them and be re-minded of what you desire. This helps so much to refocus the mind and bodies’ energy on what we want.

If the fear creeps back in, repeat all of the above. Over and over. Until you no longer require it. Have faith until you have experience, then there is no need for faith.

      Much Love!! xoxo

It’s okay to take a few minutes to close your eyes and just breathe so you won’t say something you don’t want to say.  It’s okay to feel like you want to say something you don’t want to say.  It’s okay not to beat yourself up.  You are divine.  You are perfect just the way you are, in every moment of every day.

It’s okay to feel sadness coming up from your core and not be able to stop yourself from the tears that follow.  Cry.  Cry a lot if that’s what you need.  Then, wipe your eyes and blow your nose and remind yourself you are Loved beyond measure and you are powerful beyond measure and you have the ability to create anything and everything you desire.

It’s okay that all your plans and dreams are not manifesting yet.  Focus on how you feel right now and create the feeling of dreams manifested.  Then, do the next inspired thing, without resistance.  That may mean taking out the trash or cleaning the toilets.  Whatever it is, be in the moment with gratitude.  Have fun.  You are the director of the show.

It’s okay to feel any way you feel.  If something feels “bad” then shift your focus or your perspective or change your thought about it.  Change how you feel about it.

It’s ok to be strong.  It’s ok to be weak.  It’s okay to be everything you are in any given moment.

      It’s okay to be YOU!

      Much Love!! oxoo

    • COVID-19–A Lesson In Growth

Posted at 5:21 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on April 26, 2020

We’ve all heard the saying “There are no guarantees in life.”  Dying while in labor with my daughter was the last thing I expected to happen that morning.  I had the expectation of a safe delivery, but that expectation was not met.  I had all these plans for my life afterward, but those plans changed, and in a big way.

This virus has no consideration for the outline you have of your life.  It is here, and may not be going anywhere.  Consider that for a moment.  A virus that we know little about, one there is no vaccine or at this point, no medications to treat, may be a continuous threat for the foreseeable future.  Our lives have been fundamentally altered in one foul swoop, leaving many reeling, wondering how they are going to manage themselves now.

Our personal and professional lives, in some cases, have been turned upside down.  From the cashier at any store in America to the physician (or physician assistant in my case ;), the financial impact of this pandemic is significant, for some irreversibly damaging to their lively hood.

But, I ask you, is this a “bad” thing?

We are here to expand in awareness of who we are.  We are here to connect with ourselves in a fundamental way so we may then better connect with one another.  It is through our connections that we grow and become Who We Are.  Sometimes things need to be shaken up in a big way for this to happen.  No matter the source of this virus, whether you believe the scientists or the conspiracy theorists, its here.  My question is, what are you going to do with the time you have on this earth, right now?   Are you going to continue on in the same way as before?  My guess is the world won’t let you.  None of us are going to be able to, and that’s a good thing.

Focusing on what we have gained from this virus being present at this time in our lives, rather than what it has taken, completely turns our experience around.  We go from the perception of loss to one of gain.  We have gained time either alone, or with family.  We have gained time to consider where we are in our lives and where we’ve always wanted to be.  What is your hearts desire?  What do you want to do that you haven’t done yet because fear has kept you from it?

Now.  Now is the time to make the changes that will allow for greater growth and spiritual expansion.  Fighting the changes, lamenting about how life will never be the same, keeps you stuck in the old when all your soul wants is to let the new rush in.

Say “YES” to your life and your life will step up to meet you.  Every. Single. Time.

Much Love to you !!  xox

    • Fear vs. Love

Posted at 2:33 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on April 20, 2020

The series of events leading to my decision to go to NYC during the COVID-19 pandemic were divinely synchronous.  They actually began happening a long time ago.

Since having an NDE in 2000, my life has been a series of synchronous events leading up to this moment.  This moment, where I’m sitting in my seat on a flight to JFK that is only 1/16th full.  This moment where, though every precaution will be taken, there is fear for my safety amongst family and friends.  It is in this moment where fear is not a consideration for me, rather, my desire to provide relief to exhausted healthcare workers and take care of sick patients overrides everything.

It occurred to me to not go, to just stay at home with my loved ones, however, going benefits me in multiple ways.  The greatest is, I get to share my love, which is seamless with the infinite love of the universe, during a point in time where it can help to heal.  Though my patients won’t be able to see my smile, they will see my smiling eyes reflecting them as I hold them in the highest vibration of loving, healing energy.   They will feel my love, as heart recognizes heart.  How can I be afraid of that?

Because I am not afraid, I’m able to be grateful.  I’m able to be present.  I’m able to truly be there for those who are suffering.  Fear cements us to whatever is going on around us.  When we’re able to let go of the need for controlling outcomes and allowing life to be, it is a life of freedom.   As the reins we normally hold tight begin to loosen, we are able to move through each day with greater ease.  We experience ourselves in a new way.  We experience others in a new way.  Relationships change because we change.  Life simply gets better.  Then, as we let go a little more, we expand a little more, and grow in more and more love.

For me, the process of getting to the point I’m at now with regard to fear has been a long one.  I’ve spent the better part of my life teetering between fear and allowing for life to flow.  But, like the spiral, each time I come around from a bout of fear, I’ve expanded a little bit beyond where I was before.  We can all say this about ourselves.  Take a look back on your own life and notice where your growth points occurred and what was happening in your life at that time.  Notice it from the perspective of fear vs allowing and see how these things relate.  At this time in your life, look at the potential for growth as you’re sitting in fear, and reach for the feeling of love, no matter how far the stretch.

Much Love to you all! xo

    • For Those Who Wish They Could Do Something To Help During Covid-19

Posted at 5:04 PM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on April 12, 2020

I’m one of those people who chooses to look for the silver lining in everything that happens.  No matter what has occurred to derail us from our planned or expected path, causing us to pause and say “Why?” there are positive aspects which we can recognize and focus our attention on.  Remember, energy flows where attention goes.  If you want to feel more anxiety, frustration, anger or fear, focus on all the things which evoke these emotions within you (which are also then projected outwardly to everyone and everything around you, as energy is.)  If you want to feel love, appreciation, awe, admiration, joy, peace and contentment, then focus on those aspects which evoke these feelings.  You can create them by how you choose to perceive what’s happening around you.

This pandemic is what it is in this moment.  All you or I can do is what’s recommended in terms of staying physically safe.  In terms of our emotional well-being, I recommend using the Twelve Principles for Daily Living to help center and focus our attention and allow them to help guide our thoughts and actions toward those emotions and states of being that feel good.

In the midst of this seemingly huge disruption of life as we know it, we can be  willing in every moment to choose to see it as an opportunity to practice being more aware of how we feel and how we are responding to the bodies’ impulses, the world around us and others in our lives.  We can respond in ways that are loving, compassionate, courageous, patient, present, purposeful, faithful, spiritual, creative.  We can look at ourselves, the people we love, nature in all it’s beauty, the perfectness of everything as miraculously constructed for our benefit, for our en-joyment, to be in joy rather than in fear about the unknown.   This is what we are here for.  When we are able to be in a state of being which reflects all these Principles, not only do we feel good, those around us pick up on our energetic vibration.  They benefit too.

      Much Love to You!

    • The Next Right Thing

Posted at 11:49 AM by Krista Gorman, PA-C, on April 6, 2020

This is a phrase that anyone who’s into self-help/spirituality probably hears a lot.  When you don’t “know” what to do, “Just do the next right thing.”

Sometimes it eludes us completely, other times, it is crystal clear.

For me, during the Covid-19 health crisis, it is the latter.  I am a Physician Assistant who has worked in Emergency Medicine for many years.  Through a series of synchronous events, prior to the crisis becoming the crisis it is, I found myself laid off my job with pay for 3 months.  As I was looking for temporary positions while plans were laid for a permanent position, I was guided to serving in NYC.

I am here to be of service in whatever way I can be.  Right now, it means taking care of people in a place and time where they need it so desperately.  I am not afraid.  I am not, at the same time, burying my head in the sand about the risks.  I deeply feel that I am protected with all of the PPE available to me (which they have plenty of now) and my energetic disposition of “all is well.”  My plan is to bring my expertise and Love to everyone I encounter.

Walk courageously today, then maybe tomorrow too.

Much Love to all of you!
